How can we help you?

Dormant Accounts vrs. Inactive accounts

These are the differences between Dorman Accounts vrs. Inactive accounts

1) Impersonation:

Dormant account can still be impersonated.

Inactive accounts cannot be impersonated.

2) Login:

Dormant accounts can log into the system (and he/she can toggle between active/dormant accounts).

Inactive accounts cannot log into the system.

3) Email:

Dormant accounts will still receive system emails.

Inactive accounts will not receive emails.

We will not allow an inactive account to be linked.

We will however, allow an already dormant (linked) account to be made inactive.

For example:

  • There are 2 John Smith users in the system (with 2 separate email addresses)
  • One of them is dormant and linked to the other account.
  • They remain this way for a period of time so that we can still go back and impersonate the dormant account to see their invoices, credits, etc.
  • The dormant user will still receive email from the organization – which is good because his dormant account is likely associated with a program/property/product/invoice etc.
  • After several years, the organization might decide that the information associated with the dormant account never needs to be accessed anymore via impersonation (because they can’t use this account for registration purposes anymore). Therefore this user does in fact become inactive.

Administrators can manage organization users. For each existing user, there is Impersonation and Suspend.
