Little Medical School – Wilderness Medicine
At the Wilderness Medicine School, students will be immersed in vital emergency care
in remote wilderness settings. Your little doctor will learn how to respond to emergency
situations in the wild such snake bites, hypothermia and more. They will also get to
practice how to tie a tourniquet and splint a broken leg. Students will also learn about
survival in the great outdoors in an emergency such as learning about water safety and
how to filter dirty water. These future emergency medics will also learn about
mosquitoes and diseases and how to protect themselves from mosquito bites and other
bugs. Students will have fun and use their creativity as they learn 20 ways to use a
bandana in emergencies.

This 1-day in-person session instructed by Impact First Aid & CPR is to educate youth aged 9 to 13 years on basic first aid and safety skills for when they are not under the direct supervision of a guardian or parent.The Stay Safe! program teaches applicable and age-appropriate skills while increasing and reinforcing a youth’s capacity to improve his or her own safety. Whether in their community or on their own, this group will be given better tools to Stay Safe! in a variety of different situations.Attendance is required to receive a certificate of completion:Participants will receive a Red Cross Stay Safe! manual, and a certificate upon completion of the program.
